Disabilities and Navigating the Stairs
| If anyone is working with a disability, and needs help climbing the stairs to the Dharma Hall on a Monday night, please contact Greg directly at 255-1123, or Robin at 676-0315. There is a mechanical chair that can bring you up the first two flights of stairs, though someone will have to be at the top pushing the start button. Note that if you arrive with a “buddy,” he or she can certainly turn on the chair for you as well. We must apologize that there is currently no solution for the final set of steps (up to the main shrineroom), but discussion is underway about how to change this, and to find a way to get a wheelchair up all the steps. One of our members has generously offered $1000 matching grant if we can raise the money for a system to get a wheelchair up the steps. In the meanwhile, we might be able to at least assist you as best we can. Let us know.
